About NIFDA

Founded in 1988, the National Independent Flag Dealers Association (NIFDA) has been dedicated to supporting the flag, banner, and flagpole industry for more than three decades.

NIFDA was established by seven industry leaders who believed there was a better way to serve the flag industry. One rooted in open collaboration, shared knowledge, education, and a deep respect for the most recognized symbol of our nation: the United States flag.

From the beginning, NIFDA set out to promote:

  • The ethical manufacture and sale of American flags

  • Education for both industry professionals and the public

  • The open exchange of ideas to strengthen the industry as a whole

Over the years, NIFDA has brought together flag dealers, manufacturers, and suppliers with a shared goal of advancing the common good of the industry, the Association, and its members.

Today, NIFDA represents a diverse membership from all over, ranging from one-person, family-owned businesses to large manufacturers with hundreds of employees. While our members vary in size and specialty, they are united by a shared commitment to quality, integrity, and patriotism, as well as a belief that this industry is stronger when it works together.

More than a trade association, NIFDA is a community. Our members often describe NIFDA as a family, one that welcomes new members, supports long-standing businesses, and works collectively to ensure the continued growth, improvement, and longevity of every member we serve.

Mission Statement

NIFDA is committed to the manufacture and sale of American flags made in the United States and supports its members within the flag and flagpole industry through annual conferences, the exchange of ideas, networking forums, and education.
