Advocacy Wins of 2025

Since launching our Advocacy Committee in October 2024, NIFDA has delivered meaningful advocacy wins with the support of NCTO and engaged members.

  • Make American Flags in America Act: 36 House and 5 Senate co-sponsors secured (as of Aug 2025).

  • Amazon Pressure: Annin’s letter to Jeff Bezos + NIFDA’s #SaveUSFlags toolkit raised national attention.

  • Industry Influence: NIFDA joined the National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) and participated in our first structured Advocacy Day in March 2025.

  • Grassroots Power: 30+ members submitted public comments to the United States Trade Representative (USTR) on unfair trade practices.

  • Counterfeits Removed: Amazon removed 400+ noncompliant imported flag SKUs lacking country-of-origin labels. Amazon’s Chief Counsel, our contact in the legal department, remains engaged.

  • State Progress: Building off of the federal bill, state-level Flag bills advanced in both NC and SC legislatures.

  • National Flag Week: NIFDA members met with SBA Administrator, Kelly Loeffler, in D.C. to discuss industry priorities and raised a US-made flag at SBA HQ.

  • Major Victory: The Administration ended duty-free de minimis treatment in Aug 2025 - closing a loophole that hurt U.S. manufacturers.
