Tell us about the company history or origin story:
Kim Griebling and her father Phil Millett purchased Custom Flag Company in 1998. Phil did outside sales and service while Kim worked inside sales and office operations. It all started in Kim’s basement with one part time employee. After 9/11, business really took off and quickly outgrew Kim’s house. Kim and Phil then purchased a building, in 2002, and took on a major remodel, eventually moving over in 2003. This is still the same building CFC resides in today. Phil retired in 2014, and Kim is now the sole owner.

What is an interesting fact about your business that people don’t know?
The average age of our staff is 37 years old.

Do you have any noteworthy or unique projects that you have worked on or clients you have worked with that you would like to share?
Custom Flag Company just installed four new flagpoles on the roof of Dicks Sporting Goods Park, a stadium in Denver, Colorado. The poles were replaced after a pole broke in the Polar Vortex storm last spring and the remaining flagpoles had cracks. The new shoe base aluminum flagpoles were custom manufactured to meet the wind requirement for the roof mount. One 40' x 10" base x .250 wallount. One 40' x 10" base x .250 wall thickness, one 35' x 10" base x .250 wall thickness, and two 20' x 7" base x .156 wall thickness were installed on specific fabricated pedestals.
